Lisa evaluates and treats children with a wide range of communication and learning needs.  Lisa’s experience extends to a variety of disorders including: treatment of receptive and expressive language disorders, apraxia, phonological processing and articulation, phonemic awareness, voice, pragmatic language disorders and executive function.  

Language

Lisa's focus is to improve listening (receptive language) and speaking (expressive language) skills for our clients.  Areas of specific need may include:

  • Following Directions
  • Listening Comprehension
  • Grammar Use/ Sentence Formulation
  • Concept/Vocabulary Development
  • Narrative Language (Comprehension and Story Retell)
  • Phonological Awareness and Reading Skills

Articulation/Speech Sound Production

Lisa focuses on improving speech sound production and overall intelligibility in children of all ages. 

Individualized programs are geared towards supporting:

  • Phonological Disorders
  • Apraxia of Speech
  • Speech Sound Errors ("r", "s", "th")
  • Tongue Thrust
  • Oral Motor Skills

Voice

Lisa provides activities to establish and maintain good vocal hygiene for:

  • Inappropriate volume, rate, and rhythm
  • Vocal Nodules

Pragmatics/Social Skills

Specific areas of need and focus of therapy may include:

  • Turn taking
  • Starting and ending a conversation
  • Topic Maintenance
  • Interactive Play Skills
  • Expressing Feelings


Executive Function

Lisa provides intervention strategies to support the following skills:

  • Inference/Verbal Reasoning
  • Working Memory
  • Problem Solving
  • Planning and  Organizing
